CORNELIUS, NC, Jun 03, 2010 /Financial PR News/ -- Robert E. Newton, Vice President of Wachovia (a Wells Fargo company), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in project management.
With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Newton's expertise is in building successful project teams and delivering quality solutions in the Banking and Finance Industry. At Wachovia, he oversees several compliance initiatives, including Sarbanes-Oxley (Section 404), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Application Access Controls and Change Management for the Securities & Investment Group. Mr. Newton also supports application teams during audits with internal audit, KPMG and the OCC.
Prior to joining Wachovia, Mr. Newton enjoyed a successful consulting career spanning 20+ years and several clients including Bank of America, First Union National Bank, BarclaysAmerican Corporation, Fifth Third Bank and Goodrich Corporation. As a Senior Project Management Consultant, he led initiatives to develop and deploy high-profile, financial products including Capital Management Accounts, Automated Cash Management Systems, Credit Scoring Application Systems, and Credit Card Processing applications. He has also enjoyed a successful part-time career as a College Information Technology instructor. Mr. Newton's passion for helping others achieve personal and professional success led him to conduct results-oriented, motivational seminars designed to improve personal and professional performance, effectiveness and achievement. Proceeds from these seminars are donated to a local charity.
Mr. Newton attended the University of South Carolina and Midlands Technical College. In 1983 he received an Associate's Degree in Computer Science. He makes his home with his wife at Lake Norman where he indulges in two another passions: yachting and the occasional game of golf.
