Wadlington, Chief of Staff for the Office of the Jefferson County Commissioner, District 2, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, relationship management and excellence in finance management.
As Chief of Staff for the Office of the Jefferson County Commissioner, Karen K. Wadlington is responsible for the oversight of the operations, staff and budget for the Commissioner of District 2. She assists the Commissioner in evaluating County polices, budgets, contracts and agreements for the Jefferson County Commission. She is able to build and maintain internal and external relations by communicating with elected officials, interest groups, state and local agencies to convey the Commissioner's position on issues. She also coordinates outreach meetings in neighborhoods, as well as with community groups and organizations. In addition, she assists in the management of County departments' administrative functions, including Information Techonology, Land Planning and Development Services and the Office of Senior Services. She became involved in her position through the influence of the County Commissioner, and she attributes her success to her ability to work well with others and implement a vision.
Ms. Wadlington received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Alcorn State University in 1987. Concerned about the education of our future generations, she maintains active membership with Alcorn State University's Alumni Chapter. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity, Vice Chairman of the NRS Community Development Federal Credit Union, and Help 2 Others (H20) Foundation of the Birmingham Water Work Board. Karen's goals and ambitions for life are "to give back to the community, and promote and mentor our young people in personal and professional growth."
